Station 31 was invited to participate in a Live Fire Training exercise by Long Creek Fire Department (Meck Co.) along with Cooks Fire Department (Meck Co.) last month. Crews were able to perform interior fire attacks and Ventilation training. We would like to thank Long Creek Fire for allowing us to participate in this event to better our knowledge and performance.

A crew stop by Mt. Island Charter School to do a little Fire Prevention for there Summer Camp Career Day. A Special Thank You to Ms. Smith for stepping up and dressing out in our turn out gear. The Students got fire safety tips, look throughout our truck and equipment, we finished up by wetting the kids down with water. Lucia Riverbend Fire Dept would like to announce that we have teamed up with Long Creek Fire Department to combine our Dive Teams into one Team. After a few months of talking we have come up with a plan, that will allow the two teams to work together to help provide rescue diving for Mt. Island Lake. Our training will be starting sometime in July. We are excited about this new chapter of our Dive team and are looking forward to working together.

Just after 3pm today Station 31 was dispatched to Mt. Island Lake reference a boat in distress. QRV-31 with Marine 31 and S-319 responded. On arrival Crews found that a passing boat had stop to assist the boat in distress and was bring them to the dock. After confirming everything was ok, Command cancelled all other responded units. A BIG Thank You to the guys who stop and help the boat in distress, THANK YOU! AWESOME JOB!
